They say that when you turn thirty, big things happen. To mark this milestone birthday, we’ve made some changes we’re excited about.

This year, as Floriade celebrates its 30th birthday, we are fondly looking back on past event success and positively looking forward to future event brilliance.

It seems only fitting that this year’s theme is ‘rejuvenation’. Complete with warmer weather, spring brings renewal, revival, growth and change. As we take a good look inward, outward and upward, Floriade welcomes a reinvigoration and transformation of flowers, gardens, health and wellbeing.

Here just a few of the changes we’ve made this year.

The Ziggy Band

2. Flowers galore

Everyone loves getting flowers for their birthday. For Floriade’s 30th, the team have pulled out all the stops, with over one million bulbs and annuals blooming to life. The floral festival will showcase our favourite designs from past festivals. Discover the unbelievable designs that are at the heart of Floriade.

Capital Brewing Co

3. Floriade will be the best spot in town for after-work drinks

We’ve extended our opening hours – you can now explore the park from 10am to 7pm daily. Head down after work to enjoy a locally crafted beer from Capital Brew Co., relax to the sound of live music and soak up a delicious sun set.

4. Double the fun  at NightFest

By popular request, Floriade’s after-dark experience, NightFest will run across two magical weekends: 22 September – 24 September and 29 September – 01 October. Each weekend will showcase new musicians, comedians and pop-up performances so make sure to explore the program and choose the right weekend for you…or join us on both weekends!

We don’t want to name drop, but did you know that funny guy Nazeem Hussain will be performing at NightFest? He will be joined by Tripod, Bob Evans, Kav Temperley of Eskimo Joe fame, Mondecreen, Rebecca De Unamuno – to be honest, we could list stellar acts for the rest of the day.

6. Lending a helping hand

The Floriade team are proud to be working with the two worthy, valuable, stupendous, fantastic and fabulous charities. Can you tell we love our charity partners? But like any good parent, we don’t have a favourite – the National Breast Cancer Foundation and GIVIT are both equally awesome in our eyes.
