The Floriade Fringe will transform Haig Park from 19-21 October with three huge days filled with theatre, art, music, food and dancing.

Floriade Fringe will feature a roaring cast of local and interstate artists and performers, presented by Australia’s beloved travelling bohemian festival, The Village.

Enter through the intricate gateway façade, and discover an alternative utopian environment where experimentation is the norm. The site is dotted by caravans and containers workshopping the ideas of the future. In colourful tents, experience a groundswell of artistic exuberance and expression.

  • Artists-in-Residence, Australian Dance Party – A new work commissioned exclusively for Floriade Fringe, ‘SEAMLESS’ is about the unsustainable addiction to the fashion industry and will feature Canberra contemporary dance company Australian Dance Party, as well as many local collaborators.
  • A plethora of exciting performance artists – headlined by Anya Anastasia with her show ‘Rogue Romantic’ direct from rave reviews at Edinburgh Fringe, joined by locals Sound and Fury Ensemble, Sweaty Pits, Bambi Valentine, Oliver Levi-Malouf, Frances McNair, Dead DJ Joke, CJ Bowerbird, Chris Endrey and more.
  • A knock-out music program – featuring headliners L-Fresh the Lion (Sydney) and The Burnt Sausages (Melbourne), up-and-coming Sydney funkster Thunder Fox as well as the best of Canberra’s emerging and established musos including Moaning Lisa, Brass Knuckle Brass Band, Los Chavos, BabyFreeze, Endrey, The Ugly Bunyip Band, Ample Sample, Dr Stovepipe and Mr Tim.
  • The weird and wonderful – festival-goers can get up-close and personal with some of Australia’s leading performance artists at work. The world-renowned Snuff Puppets will bring their Snuff Skool to the event and give lucky Canberrans a chance to learn the art of performing with giant street puppets.
  • Food, glorious food – The Village brings its performative and outrageously fun food stage, The World Kitchen, to Canberra audiences. Perfect for those with an appetite for meals and madness.
  • Join in the fringe fun – as always, active participation is key! Opportunities to get creative include The Village favourites such as WonderWorld, the world’s strangest Sideshow Alley, plus creative workshops and stalwart shenanigans like So You Think You Can Interpretive Dance and 10 Minute Dance Parties.
