Volunteers

The success of Floriade would not be possible without the dedication and enthusiasm of our wonderful volunteers.

We had a fantastic response from the community in 2007, with over 270 volunteers coming on board.

Volunteers at Floriade

About volunteering

Becoming a volunteer is a great opportunity to contribute to many aspects of Floriade which add value to the visitor's experience.

You should consider becoming a Floriade volunteer if you enjoy gardening and horticulture, meeting new people, helping visitors or being outdoors.

Volunteers will be provided with training, uniforms and the opportunity to participate in the highly-popular 'bulb dig' - you can take home some Floriade bulbs! Volunteers are required to complete a minimum of six shifts.

Volunteer comments, 2007

"I really enjoyed being able to assist the public and visitors to Canberra. Meeting people and learning more about Floriade was a very enjoyable experience."

(The best things about volunteering at Floriade are) "the feeling of belonging to the Canberra community, being able to help people, in particular tourists, and being proud to show off our lovely Floriade and Canebrra in general."

"I enjoyed meeting people and sharing my city with visitors."
