NightFest welcomes funny guy Nazeem Hussain to headline the second weekend. We are also excited to welcome Bart Freebairn, Laura Campbell, Ivan Aristeguieta and The Stevenson Experience to our comedy showcase.

PS: we’ve given them a big stage with lots of space to make you laugh, so come on over and enjoy the show with 1000 of your closest friends!

First Weekend Line-Up

Tripod

Tripod

Friday 22, Saturday 23 & Sunday 24 September
Tripod are comedy/cabaret writer/performers who make theatre, record albums and constantly tour; it’s their job and, yes, they make a living out of it. Tripod, in concert mode, is the meat and potatoes version of the act that started more than twenty years ago in the sticky-carpeted pubs of Melbourne. What you get is three pasty-faced lads from the suburbs standing in a line singing epic songs about their not-so-epic lives. Three-part harmony arranged with extraordinary complexity, accompanied by guitars and often piano, make the backbone of every Tripod concert; a loosely choreographed, expertly timed comedy show, with dynamics that change on a whim and snap back in the blink of an eye. Twenty years of playing onstage together has galvanised the boys into a world-class comedy show biz juggernaut with musical chops to match. Join them for a mix of tunes from their 21 year catalogue. Tripod: three men with one brain, no plan, no clue and 6 eyes – 2 of which are bad.

Second Weekend Line-Up

Nazeem Hussain

Nazeem Hussain

Friday 29 September, Saturday 30 September & Sunday 1 October
Nazeem Hussain has fast become one of the most in-demand TV and Radio personalities in Australia. Most recently he was one of the four celebrity finalists in the 2017 Australian season of Network Ten’s hit reality TV show, “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!”.

Nazeem is best known as the star and creator of the critically acclaimed TV show, ‘Legally Brown’, airing for two seasons on SBS in 2013 & 2014. The show broke ground with it’s boundary-pushing content, received wide spread critical acclaim and was nominated for Most Outstanding Comedy at the 2015 Logie Awards.

Dilruk Jayasinha

Dilruk Jayasinha

Friday 22, Saturday 23 & Sunday 24 September
After moving to Australia on his own from Sri Lanka at the age of 19, Dil was well on his way toward making his parents proud by making good use of his finance and accounting degree. However, in 2009 he was unceremoniously fired by one of the “Big Four” accounting firms.

Just as Dil had, his managers noted that he had absolutely no interest in being a full time accountant. Dil then promptly jumped up for his first gig in September 2010 and hasn’t looked back since.

Now a regular across the Melbourne comedy circuit, you would be hard pressed to go a week without seeing Dil’s name on the bill at the best rooms in the city.
