What are the opening hours of Floriade NightFest?

Floriade NightFest is open from 6.30pm–10.30pm. If you are also attending Floriade during the day, please be aware that the Floriade entrances close at 5.00pm on weekdays and 5.30pm on weekends while preparations for Floriade NightFest take place. The Floriade NightFest entrances re-open at 6.30pm.

What happens if I miss the night that I have a ticket for?

Tickets will not be exchanged or refunded unless the event is cancelled.

What happens if I arrive late?

Ticket-holders will be admitted into Floriade NightFest until 9.30pm.

Can I leave Floriade NightFest and come back?

No, pass outs are not available for Floriade NightFest.

What happens to lost property?

Lost property can be registered and, if found, collected from the Floriade Information Marquee throughout Floriade.

After Floriade closes on 16 October, please phone (02) 6205 0666 for any lost property enquiries. Any items not claimed by the 16 November 2016 will be donated to charity.

Accessibility

Is Floriade NightFest accessible to everyone?

Floriade is located on a four hectare site. The circuit around Floriade is approx. 1.6km and contains some loose granite pathways. Please wear sensible footwear and take all necessary precautions to prevent injury to yourself or those in your party. For visitors with limited mobility there is free parking available adjacent to the Regatta Point entry gate (access off Commonwealth Ave).

Parking is limited to vehicles displaying an authorised disability parking permit. Registered guide dogs and companion dogs are allowed into the Floriade grounds with their owners. Documentation for these animals is required upon entry.

Am I able to hire a wheelchair, electric scooter or stroller at Floriade NightFest?

Hire fees are $15 for electric scooters for a maximum of 3 hours and $10 for wheelchairs for a maximum of 3 hours. Strollers are $5 per day and walking frames are $5 per day.

Bookings can be made by calling Australian Capital Tourism on 0450 962 245 before and during the event.

We will need your name, contact phone number, the number of wheelchairs, electric scooters and/or strollers required and the date and preferred time for the booking. It is possible to hire and book on the day at the Wheelchair Hire Marquee, however priority is given to previous bookings.

A $20 deposit is required when hiring a wheelchair, electric scooter or stroller.

Is Floriade NightFest accessible to prams and strollers?

Paths and ramps are wide enough to accommodate pedestrians and strollers. Please be considerate to access and viewing of garden beds when using strollers and prams. Be aware there are some loose gravel pathways and there may be water on pathways after rain.

Do you accept the Companion Card for NightFest?

Yes. The Companion Card is a credit-card sized photo ID card issued to people with a disability who require lifelong attendant care from a companion to participate at venues and activities. The Card enables such people to participate without incurring the cost of a second ticket for their attendant carer.

Registered companions must present their photo ID Companion Card when booking tickets, purchasing tickets or collecting tickets or at any time during the attendance at the venue or activity.

Companions will then receive a zero priced event ticket. Please note that the event ticket is not valid unless both the cardholder and the person to whom the Companion cardholder is registered is present and has purchased their own NightFest ticket for the same date. Only the person whose photograph and name appear on the card can use the Companion Card.

If I have a companion, are they required to purchase a Floriade NightFest ticket if accompanying me to the event?

Where can I buy tickets to Floriade NightFest?

Tickets for NightFest 2016 are not yet available. When they are released you will be able to book online at ticketek.com, call 13 28 49, or book at any Ticketek outlet.

Tickets can be purchased onsite during Floriade from the Information Marquee adjacent to the Regatta Point entry gate.

Subject to availability, tickets may be available for purchase each night at the Floriade NightFest entry gates from 4.30pm at the Regatta Point entry gate and 5.00pm from the Parkes Way entry gate. I don’t have a credit card. How can I buy tickets to Floriade NightFest?

You can;

  • Visit a Ticketek outlet and pay by cash in person.
  • Purchase your tickets using cash at any of the Floriade NightFest entry gates (unless sold out prior) from 4.30pm at the Regatta Point entry gate and 5.30pm from the Parkes Way entry gate. This is for that night’s entry only. Please note limited tickets will be available for purchase each night at these entry gates.
  • Purchase your tickets from the Information Marquee from 12 September – 27 September, 9am–5pm weekdays and 9am–5.30pm weekends.

How do I collect my tickets?

There are a range of ticket collection and delivery options available, including collecting them from a Ticketek agent, having them sent by mail, registered post or express delivery, purchase online and receive an email or collecting them from the venue. Refer to Ticketek for costs associated with post and express delivery.

To avoid delays at the event, customers are advised that pre paid tickets can be collected from Canberra Ticketek outlets during trading hours.

Customers wishing to collect their tickets from the onsite box office on event day can do so from either the Regatta Point or Parkes Way entry gates.

Event box offices will open from 4.30pm at the Regatta Point entry gate and 5.30pm from Parkes Way entry gate each day of Floriade NightFest.

What kind of concessions do you accept?

Pension cardholders, seniors cardholders and tertiary student ID card holders. These people are required to provide evidence of this at time of purchase or collection e.g. pension card or student ID cards. Please note that children four years and under are admitted free.

When a patron is faced with a lost or stolen ticket, they must ring Ticketek on 13 28 49 as soon as this is realised.

What are the terms and conditions of my ticket?

Tickets are available for sale through Ticketek and their purchasing policy can be viewed on the Ticketek website.

What does a ticket entitle me to?

Ticket holders have complete access to all public areas within Floriade NightFest, including all activities, entertainment, and exhibitions. Amusement rides, food and drink and market shopping attract additional costs.

What does the number on my ticket relate to?

This is an allocated number relating to the number of tickets printed for the event. It is for office use only and helps ensure that duplicates are not forged. Please note, this does NOT relate to seating allocations. Seating reservations or allocations are NOT available to any of the shows or film screenings, it is a first-in, first-served basis.

What is the weather like in Canberra during Floriade?

Spring temperatures in Canberra range from an average minimum of 5° to an average maximum of 19°. For up to date weather information visit the Bureau of Meteorology.

The event will continue in the case of rain and cold weather and will only be cancelled if the weather conditions are considered dangerous by Event Management. This may occur at short notice, in which case patrons may exchange tickets for another night or obtain a full refund.

Patrons accept that weather they might consider unsatisfactory may occur and acknowledge that tickets will not be exchanged or refunded unless the event is cancelled by Event Management.

Some outdoor performances may be altered, postponed or cancelled due to inclement weather. This decision will be made by Event Management in the interest of public and performer safety and does not entitle the ticket holder to a refund or exchange.

All ticket holders are advised to make provision for wet weather. Ponchos will be available for purchase at the Floriade Shop; however we strongly recommend you bring your own wet weather gear. The use of umbrellas during film screenings is not permitted as it obstructs the view of other audience members.

Transport and parking

How do I get to Floriade NightFest?

Public Entrances to Floriade NightFest
The two public entrances are located at Regatta Point, off Commonwealth Avenue, and the Parkes Way footbridge next to the Olympic Pool car park in Allara Street.

Parking
There is limited parking available at Acton Park. Other parking choices, including Constitution Ave car parks, are highlighted on the parking map.

Accessible Parking
Free parking for people with limited mobility is available adjacent to the Regatta Point entry (access off Commonwealth Ave). Parking is limited and vehicles must display an authorised disability permit.

Bus
The nearest bus stops to Floriade NightFest are located on either side of Commonwealth Avenue near Albert Street and either side of Commonwealth Avenue near Albert Hall (see parking map). ACTION buses provide regular bus services between Floriade and the city.

ACTION’s Blue Rapid routes provide access via Commonwealth Avenue on weekdays and Saturday nights. Plan your travel ahead of time by viewing timetables online for Blue Rapid 300 & 900 series.

Walking
Just a pleasant walk from the city and you are at Floriade NightFest. The Canberra Centre to Floriade via Allara Street and across the Parkes Way footbridge will get you to the Parkes Way entry gate in about 10-15minutes. Walking from Commonwealth Avenue bus stop near Albert Street will get you to the Regatta Point entry gate in about 5 minutes.

Taxi
Taxi’s can drop you off at the Regatta Point Entry. Call Cabxpress 6260 6011 or Canberra Cabs 13 2227. Cab point 10 is the closest pick up point just outside the Regatta Point Entry.

Bike
Why not ride your bicycle to Floriade NightFest and enjoy the fresh air? For your convenience, bicycle racks are located at the Parkes Way and Regatta Point entry gates to Floriade NightFest. Make sure you bring your own chain and lock, as bicycles and tricycles (including hand held tricycles for young children must be left at the gate).

Parking is available at various public car parks within close proximity to Floriade NightFest (fees may apply), including:

  • Acton Park off Commonwealth Ave

Conditions of entry

Can I take my bike or trike inside Floriade NightFest?

In the interest of public safety, all forms of bicycles and tricycles, including hand propelled tricycles, are not permitted within the grounds of Floriade.

Bicycle racks are provided at the Parkes Way and Regatta Point entry gates. You must provide your own lock and chain.

Provision can be made for tricycles to be stored at any of the entry gates, however Floriade takes no responsibility for theft or damage.

For your convenience, strollers can be hired for $5 per day from the Wheelchair Hire Marquee located at the Regatta Point entrance.

Can I take my skateboard, rollerblades and scooter inside Floriade NightFest?

In the interest of public safety, skateboards, scooters and rollerblades/skates are not permitted within the gates of Floriade.

Can I bring alcohol into Floriade NightFest?

No. Bag searches will be undertaken to ensure patrons do not bring alcohol into Floriade NightFest. However, a range of venues inside Floriade NightFest will be selling alcoholic beverages, for both take away (within the Floriade NightFest grounds) and dine-in consumption, including Vista Cafe and the Moonlight Lounge.

Can I come to Floriade NightFest if I am under 15?
