Is it hard for me to walk around Floriade?
Floriade is located on a four hectare site. The circuit around Floriade is approx 1.6km and contains some loose granite pathways. Please wear sensible footwear and take all necessary precautions to prevent injury to yourself or those in your party.
I have limited mobility – where do I park?
Free parking for people with limited mobility is available adjacent to the Regatta Point entry (access off Commonwealth Avenue). Parking is limited and vehicles must display an authorised disability permit.
Can I hire a wheelchair, electric scooter or stroller?
Floriade is accessible to wheelchairs.
A limited number of wheelchairs, electric scooters and strollers are available for hire from the Wheelchair Marquee located inside the Regatta Point entry gate.
Hire fees are $10 for electric scooters and $5 for wheelchairs for a maximum period of 3 hours. Strollers are $5 per day.
Bookings can be made by phoning Australian Capital Tourism on
02 6205 0666 during business hours. We will need your name, contact phone number, the number of wheelchairs, electric scooters and/or strollers required and the date and preferred time for the booking.
It is possible to hire and book on the day at the Wheelchair Hire Marquee, however priority is given to previous bookings.
Can I bring my guide dog?
Registered guide dogs and companion dogs are allowed into the Floriade grounds with their owners. Documentation for these animals may be required upon entry.
Can I bring a 'hand held' tricycle to Floriade?

In the interest of public safety, all forms of bicycles and tricycles, including hand held tricycles, are not permitted within the grounds of Floriade.
Bicycle racks are provided at the Parkes Way and Regatta Point entry gates. You must provide your own lock and chain.
Provision can be made for tricycles to be stored at any of the entry gates, however Floriade takes no responsibility for theft or damage.
For your convenience, strollers can be hired from the Wheelchair Hire Marquee located at the Regatta Point entry gate (costs apply).
Does Floriade offer onsite tours?
Onsite tours will be conducted at Floriade. Details will be confirmed in June 2008. For further information contact 02 6205 0666.
Floriade also offers a limited number of mini-bus tours through the Floriade grounds for nursing homes and community groups on weekdays only. Bookings are essential - contact the Event Operations Assistant on 02 6207 2294.
Is there an ATM in the park?
An automatic teller machine (ATM) is located near the Regatta Point gate.
Are first aid services available?
In the case of an emergency or for first aid, please notify a Floriade staff member. First Aid services are available at all times at Floriade. Floriade staff are easily recognised by their Floriade uniforms.
Where can I get information while I’m at Floriade?
For information on entertainment and activities, horticultural workshops and more, visit the Information Marquee located adjacent to the Regatta Point entry to Floriade. You can also ask one of the Floriade volunteers, identifiable by their Floriade uniforms.
How can I best protect myself from the sun?
Make sure the whole family has fun at Floriade by being SunSmart this year. Simple things like wearing sun protective clothing, SPF 30+ broad spectrum sunscreen, a hat and sunnies can all contribute towards a great day out.
Ultraviolet radiation (UVR) levels during can still be very high in spring, so take extra care by checking today’s forecasted UV levels in advance. When UV levels reach 3 and above sun protection is recommended!
There is plenty of shade at Floriade, particularly around the Stage 88 lawns so it’s easy to take extra care between 10am - 2pm. And don’t worry if you leave something at home because sunscreen, hats and sunglasses are all available for sale at Floriade every day.
What if I lose something?
Lost property can be collected from the Floriade Information Marquee throughout Floriade until 12 October. After 12 October, please phone 6205 0666 for any lost property enquiries. Any items not claimed by Monday 1 December 2008 will be donated to charity.
Can I bring my pet?
In the interest of health and public safety, dogs (other than guide dogs) and other animals are not permitted at Floriade.
Where does Floriade get its water from?
Floriade’s main water supply is provided from Lake Burley Griffin by agreement with the National Capital Authority. Australian Capital Tourism is committed to ensuring responsible water usage and management for Floriade.
Can I get food and drink at Floriade?
There are several places to get food and drink at Floriade:
Cafe Valenti
Enjoy a glass of wine and the fabulous a la carte menu while sitting on the verandah overlooking the stunning Floriade garden displays.
The Digger’s Rest Cafe
Set on the edge of beautiful Nerang Pool, the Digger’s Rest Cafe is a wonderful place to enjoy a glass of wine and a meal.
Village Takeaway
A selection of fast food, coffee and refreshments is available at the Floriade Village.
Streets Ice Cream
Streets Ice Cream vendors will be located throughout the park to satisfy your sweet cravings.
Snacks and other goodies
Choose from roasted nuts, nougats, special curry mixes and much more from the Floriade Village. There will also be a range of smaller food and beverage outlets throughout the event site.
Can I hold a function at Floriade?
Floriade can accommodate your catered or uncatered function. Please see food & wine for all everything you need to know about functions.
